The last night of FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week 2022 brought an intergalactic theme to the stage with stars and models wearing outfits styled with bringing a feeling of homecoming to the planet. Doing the first show with physical assets after a break of two years because of the pandemic, both the designers expressed their excitement and feelings for the show. The theme of the show with its glitters, unique and extravagant designs, and edgy eye look, was named “EarthBound,” representing the homecoming of people from different planets after spending lots of years apart.

When asked about the feeling of doing a show in front of a live audience after a long period, Falguni said that she is really enthralled at the prospect of being a part of the backstage buzz and pre-show madness. This excited the designer to absolute heights. About the theme for their show, Shane Peacock explained that the design is centralised to make people feel as if there is an intergalactic show brought forth for the people to enjoy. The idea of the theme came to their mind because Shane himself is very interested in the possibility of visiting other planets someday.

Shane Peacock elaborates that the stress of the pandemic and the various elements that have been faced by the people of the world influenced their work, and so they found themselves adding more and more galactic designs to their outfits. This theme will allow people to have various kinds of ideas on a more celebratory note, instead of sombre. The whole idea is that after fifty years of roaming different planets, the people are coming back to their homes with a splash of colours, designs, textures, and flighty ideas in their costumes.

Actress Anaya Pandey was the showstopper for the concluding night of the Lakme Fashion Week. When asked about the showstopper and the kind of outfit being designed for them, Shane Peacock tells that they always wanted Ananya to have a long train with edgy eye makeup and a little drama. The look when completed won over the crowd.

The show was a success with a variety of colours, designs, extravagantly unique postures and silhouettes and a feel of the space in it. It will pave a new direction for the designers to work with and will definitely inspire more new designs and ideas.
