N°1: Chanel’s New Step Towards Sustainable Beauty

Paris has been the home of beauty and luxury, one of the most exotic sites when it comes to beauty and fashion but it’s even more splendid when the iconic brand Chanel takes you there with their very first range of skincare and beauty line consisting of skincare, makeup and fragrance by introducing the brand new N°1 De Chanel on January 14. With the launch of this iconic range, Chanel is back to square one with a brand new approach in the beauty industry. There are nine items in the N°1 De Chanel line—including a cleanser, a serum-in-mist, a skin-perfecting foundation, lip and cheek tint and balm and a fragrance mist—ranging in price from $45 to $160. The beauty line is going to be available at Chanel.com and Ulta.com. It’s the first time when the products of Chanel will be seen in bold red colour reflecting on their bold and new initiative. It’s Chanel’s first-ever collection of products that span across all its beauty categories: skincare, fragrance.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  •   Chanel’s new range of beauty products with a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach.
  •   Environmental friendly and light packaging with a reduced weight of product’s jars.
  • Use of biodegradable waste for making lids and organic ink for decorating the product.
  •   No use of cellophane and limited use of plastic in the range.
  • A new naturalistic and sustainable approach, using extracts of Red Camilla Flower up to 70-80% in their products.

The Red Camellia flower seems to be the highlight of this range. This flower blooms in winter and is capable of withstanding harsh weather thus making it an excellent choice for Chanel’s new highlight. The flower is proven to have multiple antioxidants and produce a calming sensation in case of stress. Just like the property of this flower, the product line of this iconic brand claims to withstand any condition, repairing and nourishing skin resulting in glowing and ageless skin. It offers the customer a spotless and wrinkle-free look in a natural way.

The new range contains almost 70-80% of the Red Camilla’s extract, from using its petals to seeds to reduce the wastage as much as possible.

With the launch of this range, Chanel takes another step in embracing natural and sustainable ways of beauty. With their sustainable products, the brand has made sure to provide a very luxurious but eco-friendly packaging, giving it’s clients the experience of having it all. The weight of product jars has also been reduced.

The brand has paid special focus on limiting the use of plastic. For the very first time cellophane is not used in any products. With the use of only organic ink for decorations and the replacement of QR codes, the brand seems determined to use only sustainability and an eco-friendly environment as far as it can. Besides, the lids of all the products are from biodegradable sources.

The most iconic product in this range is the Revitalizing Cream consisting of Camilla seed shells, effective in restoring the skin lustre and elasticity and giving a relatively younger-looking skin.

The launch of N°1 de Chanel is an iconic moment in the history of Chanel and is therefore creating hype in the beauty world. This new sustainable and eco-friendly range certainly is going to be a benchmark in the industry.
