Use These Homemade Lip Balms To Forget Your Chapped Lips  

What could be more unattractive or painful than dry, chapped lips? Yes of course, one can always dab on some lip balm but as it wears off, you’re back to where you started. Besides, they have so many chemicals that it messes with the natural color of your lips. For all those beauties who want to depend on nature for beauty, here are few lip balms that you can D-I-Y at your home to get rid of those stubborn dry lips:

Sweet Almond lip balm

Ingredients needed: Sweet almond oil/ coconut oil, Shea butter, Any essential oil(optional), Beetroot/ Carrot extract (optional)

How to do it:

As the name suggests, we need 2-3 teaspoons of sweet almond oil and Shea butter for this DIY. Now all we have to do is melt the butter in the microwave or you can do the same using the double boiler method as well. (Make sure you don’t use the heat directly on the butter, otherwise it will burn)  Mix everything well while it’s still hot. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for an enchanting smell or add some beetroot or carrot extract for color. And that’s it. Pour it in a jar or something to store it and use it after it cools down.

Vitamin E lip balm

Ingredients needed: Vitamin E capsules, almond oil/ coconut oil, cocoa butter, essential oil(optional) 

How to do it:

Melt the cocoa butter in a microwave or using a double boiler method. Then add the almond/ coconut oil and vitamin E oil (extracted from the capsules) to it. Make sure to still well while it’s hot. After that, you can add some essential oil such as lavender, vanilla or peppermint for a refreshing smell. Now all you need to do is have patience while it cools down. And voila! You got your own customized homemade Vitamin E lip balm.

Beetroot/ Carrot lip balm

Ingredients needed: Beetroot/ Carrot, Shea butter, essential oil(optional)

How to do it:

Firstly, grate the beetroot/ carrot to strain out it’s juice. Secondly, melt the Shea butter with the help of a microwave or using the double boiler method. Now, add the juice to the melted butter and stir well. Add a few drops of any preferable essential oil for a nice smell and taste. Finally, transfer it to a jar or stick and let it cool down. If you think the consistency is too soft, then add more butter to the mixture. Otherwise add a few drops of any carrier oil if you think it is a little too hard for your liking.

Vanilla Cinnamon lip balm

Ingredients needed: Vanilla extract, Almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, cinnamon extract, essential oil (optional)

How to do it:

Heat the almond oil, coconut oil along with beeswax and cocoa butter in a microwave or using the double boiler method. Now still well and mix it together. If you want you can add a few drops of essential oil to it for a nice smell. After that, add the cinnamon extract to the mixture. Finally, transfer it to a jar or tin and let it cool down. There you have it, your Vanilla Cinnamon lip balm.
